Therapy that really works!
Delivered in a warm, helpful way.

Couples and individual therapy that can make a difference
I work with warmth, skill and care. It might not be your usual comfort zone, but I will put you at your ease and make sure you get the most out of your sessions.
I've been delivering therapy since 2018, and I know what’s needed to create a friendly, comfortable space where clients feel relaxed enough to find the right words to describe exactly how they’re feeling and express things they haven’t quite articulated before. And then, together, we will notice patterns and work out how to dismantle the ones that aren’t working for you any more.

When we’ve worked out what is getting you down, I’ll be able to offer you frameworks and approaches that will help you see the problem more clearly. Then we can explore practical ideas that will work for you and help you feel better again.

I know from experience that getting therapy with the right person at a challenging time can be life changing.
I have many years of experience in helping individual clients and couples who are having difficulties with a wide range of issues:
  • Relationship and couples difficulties
  • Anxiety and stress
  • Low confidence and self-esteem
  • Depression
  • Sexual challenges
  • Grief, bereavement and loss
  • Separation and divorce
  • Redundancy and job loss
  • Neurodiversity – including Autism and ADHD
  • Panic attacks
  • Boarding school experiences and syndrome
  • Fertility and infertility
  • Donor conception
  • Sexual and emotional abuse
  • Family breakdown and conflict
  • Post-natal depression
  • Parenthood
  • Baby and pregnancy loss
  • Health anxiety
  • Workplace stress and bullying
  • Burnout and Imposter Syndrome

    INFERTILITY AND MISCARRIAGE
Many years ago I had had multiple IVF rounds, miscarriages, surgeries and navigated donor conception. I thought I was coping pretty well, then I had a heartbreaking still birth. I was fortunate enough to be offered a course of therapy sessions with an amazing counsellor, that made a world difference to me. So much so, that I eventually retrained to be a counsellor.

I see clients for a huge range of issues, but my experience has lead me to specialise in supporting men, women and couples through pregnancy, baby loss, infertility struggles, miscarriages, IVF, donor conception and surrogacy. I know how profoundly these things can effect your well being and relationships.

Sessions cost £75 to £85 for individuals and £130 to £145 for couples.

I am a Humanistic counsellor which allows me to tailor my approach to each client, drawing on different theoretical approaches and techniques. I use my experience and training to support clients to feel empowered to make changes and live life more fully. However, I’m not an expert on you or your story: that expert is you. Sessions will be guided by what you want to achieve and taken at your pace. Whatever you share with me will be treated respectfully and in confidence.

    Siobhan

"Emma is an excellent therapist, guiding me through my personal journey with warmth and care. Never rushing and yet always mangaing to steer the conversation to those deep insights that allow me to grow."
    Jay

"Emma allowed me to explore my anxieties and get to the root causes of how I was feeling. This was done in a safe space and I’m so grateful for being able to talk about anything that was on my mind. Emma provided great support and some really practical tools to explore how I was feeling, which enabled me to feel more accepting. I felt lighter and positive after our sessions!"
    Meena

"I will start by saying that I truly cannot recommend Emma enough! After long periods of trying to find the right therapist, I came across Emma and I really feel like our work together has been deeply helpful, healing & transformative. To begin with, I felt that Emma brought a genuine kindness, warmth & acceptance to all of our sessions and her insightfulness always made me feel listened to. She always did her utmost to try and understand where I was coming from and gave me the patience & space to really work through my own feelings & experiences. When we began our sessions together, I was experiencing mental health challenges that felt particularly hard. Our sessions really changed my approach to how I tackle difficulties in my own life; areas that initially felt totally overwhelming to me, later felt much less daunting and even manageable!
I really credit Emma for lifting me through a difficult period of my life. Aside from being a real source of comfort & support, my biggest takeaway from my sessions is that Emma helped me find a confidence & trust in myself that I didn’t really know was there to begin with. I am now in a place where I can see a real difference in my life & in my progress, and I can’t thank Emma enough for her amazing support!"

"I started talking to Emma about some family and work issues a few months ago. I have had a very positive counselling experience which has helped me very much. Emma's insightful questions and observations helped me organise my thoughts and think about solutions. Emma fosters a thoughtful, engaged and caring environment. I also appreciated her tailored approach which allowed me to direct the way I wanted the therapy to be run."

"Emma supported me through various fertility issues and a subsequent successful, but very anxious pregnancy. The sessions made a huge difference to my mental wellbeing; Emma was very empathetic and perceptive and her approach enabled me to reflect and consider how to move forward. I would highly recommend Emma to anyone in a similar situation."
    Zoe

"I couldn’t have got through all these life events without the safe space Emma gave me to process my thoughts and emotions each week. Emma helped me through the grief of miscarriage and was able to guide me out of a deep depression with her warmth and positivity. She also helped me come to terms with the terminal illness and eventual loss of my mother whilst dealing with the extreme anxiety throughout my pregnancy after loss.

Her gentle approach to counselling made me feel like I was receiving hugs when I needed them the most. My sessions were the reason I was able to cope through all the loss and anxiety, it was not an easy journey but Emma made it a little more achievable and helped me to accept that it was possible to be happy again."
    Chloe

"Emma helped me with a myriad of difficulties: miscarriage; donor-assisted conception; caring for elderly parents; relationship issues and career concerns. She was unstinting in her kindness and support and always made me feel heard and understood. She helped me gain perspective on my situation and was a life-line in my darkest moments. I always felt better after talking to her and left our sessions feeling lighter and more able to cope."
    Camilla
